Are you an officer of a student organization but don't have access to your group in UNG Connect? Check your admin status!
If you are a current officer of a student organization please check your officer status in UNG Connect. Over the summer UNG Connect purged many of the existing admins/officers from groups due to membership end dates. Your advisor and other officers have the ability to add you back, but contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you need help.
All student organizations are required to re-register at the beginning of each fall semester, and an important part of this process is figuring out a strategy and plan for your regular group meetings.
Room reservations on campus are not guaranteed and may need to be used for academic purposes, and many students who want to get involved may not feel comfortable meeting face-to-face in the current climate. Under these circumstances, it is best to be flexible either by meeting virtually along with in-person meetings.
To help students find your organization we are asking you to please include a link to your virtual meetings in your re-registration form on UNG Connect.
Please use Zoom or Microsoft Teams for this purpose. Both can be accessed with your UNG student account.
As a result of the UNG's Fall 2020 Reopening Plan regarding physical distancing and size of gatherings, all Student Organization activities and events will be modified and potentially suspended for the Fall 2020 semester.
Each event request and registration will be reviewed to identify questions or possible conflicts with this new plan. Room capacity and availability will be limited and restricted due to physical distancing and sanitization requirements. We are providing guidance and resources to help students and Student Organizations engage and build community and a sense of belonging while still observing the requirements of our community standards.
For more information refer to the guideline document for resources and specific examples of activities and events that should be modified and potentially suspended for the Fall 2020 semester.
SGA Micro-Grants for Requesting Student Activity Funds
To Organizations and Offices that Request Student Activity Fee Funding:
We know that you are as excited about the upcoming year, as we are, and we want to help you understand how we are navigating funding during these unprecedented times. Budgets have been cut across the board and your Student Government Association is delicately balancing its goal to provide services and activities to students with also being fiscally responsible.
Therefore, annual student organization and office budgets will not be provided this year. Instead, SGA has launched a new COVID Micro-Grant to request Student Activity Fee funds for the use of student activities and services this academic year.
Can be requested at any time using the Everything Form
Must include a detailed, itemized budget breakdown of expenses needed
Will be voted on by the SGA at their weekly Business Meetings (Mondays at noon) and will not be suspended for a week as had occurred in the past
