OCAF Reciprocal Biennial
Calling all OCAF members
Each year we celebrate the relationship between the University of North Georgia and the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation with a juried exhibition. We are pleased to issue this call for entries for the 2024 Reciprocal Biennial: Once Upon a Time.
The 2024 Reciprocal exhibition will explore various interpretations of the phrase “Once Upon a Time”. Any interpretation of that theme is welcome. The winner of Best in Show will be given a solo show during the 2024 – 2025 academic year.
This year’s juror is Georgia native, Anna Doll who serves as the Education Curator at the Robert C. Williams Museum of Papermaking at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. She is the former director of the Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia.
Artists selected for the exhibition must be current OCAF members. Approximately 20 artworks will be selected. Only 2 submissions per artist will be accepted.
Submissions are now open and will close on February 16 at 11:59. Artists selected will be notified via email by February 23. The University will send each artist chosen a loan agreement via email which must be signed and returned within 1 week. Delivery of the artwork is expected on March 18, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Please contact Victoria Cooke at victoria.cooke@ung.edu if you need to make other arrangements. Pick up of work after the show closes will be Friday, May 17.
We do have some restrictions due primarily to space concerns. Giclee prints and photographs on canvas or metal will not be accepted. Due to limitations in our display furniture, no jewelry can be accepted. All wall-mounted works should be framed and ready to hang with a wire. Wall hung work cannot be larger than 36 inches in any direction (including the frame) and no sculpture larger than 24 inches can be displayed.
The exhibition will be on view March 22 through May 16 with a reception TBD.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at Victoria.cooke@ung.edu. We look forward to seeing your work! Do make sure to allow time to upload images. They can be a little slow.
