The Department of Music Presents An Evening with Gershwin Concert
Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 7:30 PM ~ Hoag Student Center Auditorium, Dahlonega Campus

Dr. Joe Chapman will present An Evening with Gershwin, on Saturday, September 21 at 7:30 PM in the Hoag Student Center Auditorium, located on the University of North Georgia Dahlonega campus. Admission is free and the public is cordially invited to attend. The concert will feature a centennial celebration performance of Rhapsody in Blue, along with other Gershwin favorites, including Strike Up the Band, Summertime, and I Got Rhythm. Dr. Chapman is the Senior Professor of Music at the University of North Georgia, having joined the faculty in 1983. He has performed hundreds of solo recitals for arts associations, colleges, schools, and churches throughout the state of Georgia, and he has served the music profession through leadership in various professional music organizations. In November 2023, he was named Teacher of the Year by the Georgia Music Teachers Association.
