On Saturday, October 12, the performing duo of Evie Ladin and Keith Terry will be offering a can’t-miss program of old-time song and dance. Ladin and Terry are known internationally as leading practitioners in the old-time scene. They combine expert performance skills on a range of instruments with singing and percussive dance in a show that combines traditional music with new songs written in a folk style. Their collaboration has been praised for its energy and innovation. Ladin and Terry are visiting Dahlonega from their home in Oakland, CA, making this a unique opportunity for local audiences. They will also be offering an afternoon workshop for students enrolled in the UNG String Band course and the Georgia Pick & Bow Traditional Music School. Participants will be learning how to play for square dances. The concert is free and open to the public. It will take place at 7:30 pm in Shott Performance Hall in the Nix building on the Dahlonega UNG campus.
