Join the UNG Special Collections & Archives as we celebrate Georgia Archives Month with an exhibit on early Dahlonega history featuring an 1818 map of Georgia and a presentation by UNG students.
Before It Was Dahlonega will feature UNG students sharing their research on the Native American history of Dahlonega. Learn about the Cherokee Nation in Northeast Georgia, their dispossession in the early 19th century, and the effects of the Cherokee Removal on the community.
The student panel will be held on October 26th at 5:30 pm. The event will be held in the Library Technology Center room 382 (Potter Special Collections Room) and will be broadcast to Gainesville in Library 134 and Oconee in SRC 581.
