Before It Was Dahlonega will feature UNG students sharing their research on the Native American history of Dahlonega. Learn about the Cherokee Nation in Northeast Georgia, their dispossession in the early 19th century, and the effects of the Cherokee Removal on the community.

The event is in celebration of Georgia Archives Month and an exhibit featuring an early map of Dahlonega. The speakers will be broadcast via Zoom from the Library Technology Center room 382. In Gainesville, the event will be shown in Library 134 and in Oconee it will be shown in SRC 581.
