Details

Attendees will be provided with a description of the differences between assigned leadership and emergent leadership, a brief history of the Emergent Leader Initiative, and a description of how the concept of emergent leadership has had an impact on the group's founding. Attendees will be encouraged to patriciate in the discussion by providing their own experiences and asking questions of the presenters.

Matthew Marchione is a Strategic and Securities Studies major and is a member of the Corps of Cadets and the Emergent Leader Initiative. He got his start in leadership by being active in the Emergent Leader Initiative as the organization's Vice-President, where he discovered his love for mentorship and peer development.

Jack Rainbow is a Strategic and Securities Studies major and is a member of several campus organizations, including the Corps of Cadets, the Student Money Management Center, and the Emergent Leader Initiative. He founded the Emergent Leader Initiative as a coordinated way for experienced students to mentor and develop younger students to spark an interest in peer leadership across the student body.
