The Nighthawks Gaming Convention is coming up on March 29th, 2025, and as members of the Gaming Club, we want to make sure you get the first chance to register and submit events!
As we gear up for the Nighthawks Gaming Convention 2025, I wanted to share some details and clarify a few things about our How-to-Play sessions and event submissions. We currently have 95 registered attendees and 35 events submitted!
From our surveys, we’ve learned that attendees just want to play—and they aren’t always picky about what game it is. What they do appreciate is having someone there to explain the rules, so they don’t have to struggle through a long, complicated rule book.
How-to-Play Sessions:
These sessions are perfect if you’re willing to either teach or just be a participant! The How-to-Play area is a great way to get involved if you don't need a quiet space and are comfortable in the open area of open gaming. Whether you want to run a game or be on hand to explain the rules, it’s up to you!
These are great to submit if you have a game that you’ve always wanted to play with 6 players but can never get enough people to the table. Come January, when we publish the schedule, attendees can review and get (free) tickets to your How-to-Play, and boom, you’ve got a full group, with a scheduled time and location set aside for your play.
These are also great if you love teaching people new games and don’t want to be a participant.
We will also have volunteer opportunities for different areas if you want to act more like a floater and help people pick games and understand rules throughout the day.
Multiple Event Submissions:
If you’re up for hosting multiple events, we’d love that! And don’t worry, you’ll know ahead of time how many people are interested in your sessions—attendees can pre-register using our ticket system in January. If no one signs up for a time slot, you’ll have some extra free time during the day.
We appreciate any time you’re willing to share your love of gaming with others!
So, if you’re considering hosting a How-to-Play session, even for a short time, your help would make a big difference!
