In coordination with the design faculty, the purpose of the society is to educate and provide resources to only current BFA design majors (close membership), inspiring their learning, helping them jumpstart their design careers, and developing relationships in the design community.

1. Membership is open to the BFA Graphic Design students in the Department of Visual Arts across all campuses:
A. Membership Requirements: The members must have taken ART 3450 or 3460 and received notification of their acceptance to the BFA program. Those who receive the notification will be added to the society by the Visual Arts department.
B. Membership Dues: The society will not collect membership fees.
C. Membership Responsibilities: To maintain membership within the organization, all members should attend all required meetings and be in good academic standing.

Mission
The Chorale is open to all without formal auditions. However, those wishing to sing with the ensemble must possess a VERY GOOD ear for pitch. Each prospective member will be tested for range, pitch recall (three to five notes played and then sung back by the singer), and sight reading. Sight reading is not a requirement for admittance into the ensemble, but is a plus. Prior choral experience is not required but would be very helpful.

The chorale gives several performances each semester, both on and off campus. Ensemble members should be aware that they will be required to participate in all rehearsals and performances, some of which may be outide regular meeting times.

Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11-12:15

Mission
The University of North Georgia Golden Eagle Band is the oldest college marching band in the state of Georgia and is one of the oldest in the United States. In continuous existence since the founding of the university in 1873, the band serves as the official musical representative of the university and its nationally recognized Corps of Cadets. Members of the ensemble are drawn from the university student body at-large and from all 5 of the UNG Campuses.

Mission
The jazz band and jazz combo are performing organizations open to all students regardless of major. The groups perform many of the great jazz charts and strive to perform in a wide variety of styles from swing and latin jazz, to cool jazz, fusion and beyond. The groups perform in several concerts each Academic Organization year.

This select women's ensemble was founded by Dr. John Broman in fall 2001 and was invited to perform at the 2006 Georgia Music Educators Association Conference in Savannah, Georgia. This choir is open to any qualified female through a rigorous audition process and is offered for one hour of college credit. LBV practices twice a week and specializes in performing women's music spanning a wide variety of musical genres.

The UNG Low Brass Collective offers trombone, euphonium and tuba players a chance to practice and perform great music. Styles range from jazz, rock, Classical, contemporary, and more. Annual concert events include Octubafest and the Spring Euphoria. The group also hosts guest lectures and performers.

The UNG Patriot Choir is an all-male choir made up exclusively of cadets from the University of North Georgia Boar's Head Brigade. This ensemble performs Military Organization music, love songs, folk song arrangements, sacred music, and other repertoire written for men.

Mission
The UNG Singers, under the direction of Dr. John Broman, is a performance-oriented ensemble that sings often on campus and throughout the community and state each year. Entrance to the group is by audition and is offered for one hour of college credit. This choir rehearses three time a week. The music backgrounds of the members are as diverse as the music performed, but all are committed to making music for the enjoyment of others. Singers serves as the university's premiere touring choral ensemble, assuming the role of music ambassadors in the process. Extensive touring takes place on an every-other-year basis, with trips overseas being scheduled once every four years.

The University of North Georgia cheer and dance program is a student-led organization that support the Nighthawk athletic teams by generating crowd excitement and school spirit. Squad members hold great responsibility in the fact that each member is an ambassador to the University and represent the Campus Recreation and Wellness department and campus community. The squad cheers at most UNG basketball games and are also present at many campus and community events.

The Symphonic Band is a performance based organization which provides students the opportunity to study and perform traditional and contemporary band literature appropriate to the performance skills and instrumentation of the ensemble. Mission
The University of North Georgia (UNG) Wind Ensemble is a resident ensemble on the Dahlonega Campus.

The band performs both on and off campus throughout the entire Academic Organization year and performs many celebrated genres of music, from contemporary artists such as Eric Whitacre and Frank Ticheli, to traditional pieces by Alfred Reed and Percy Grainger. The music is both challenging and musically rewarding.

Members of the band are required to participate in all rehearsals and performances and are expected to spend time outside of class perfecting and refining their musical abilities.

The University of North Georgia (UNG) Wind Ensemble is open to all qualified students by audition.
