Details
The United Way of Hall County family specializes in teamwork and collaboration with our community partners to help those in need and to build a stronger community. More than 50% of our neighbors are considered financially burdened, low income, or extremely poor; meaning they struggle to afford basic necessities. Now, in light of the current public health emergency, their struggle is even more difficult. The rapid spread of the novel coronavirus has not only made a severe impact on healthcare but also on the economy. United Way of Hall County recognizes that even families and individuals not directly affected by the pandemic's health issues may be struggling due to financial ramifications from the toll the coronavirus has taken on our economy and job market. We have seen this firsthand over the past few weeks since the COVID 19 public emergency began. Our Compass Center volume has more than doubled and many of these calls are first-time requests from people whose situations have dramatically changed. Through courageous teamwork and collaboration with our partners, we will continue to serve those affected by coronavirus, as well as forever continuing our work to advocate for those in need.
