Emotionally Intelligent Leadership - By learning to understand myself and others, I can more effectively lead from a space of awareness and empathy.

"Emotional Intelligence is your ability to recognize and understand emotions in yourself and others, and your ability to use this awareness to manage your behavior and relationships." - Bradberry & Greaves

Did you know that Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is the biggest predictor of performance? Using Bradberry and Greaves's model of Emotional Intelligence competencies and skills, students will begin to understand where they can learn and grow. Unlike IQ that is concrete, by actively exploring individual awareness and natural tendencies, students will courageously look inside themselves and how they show up in leadership. EQ is the intersection of what you see and what you do. We will utilize movie clips from popular movies and reflection to explore good and bad examples of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management so students can start to see how our understanding of ourselves and others impacts our leadership effectiveness. The best thing about emotional intelligence? If you feel as if your skills are lacking, we are actively seeking to improve them over time!
